‘Music for Anbuillam’
A recommendation was made from the Corps Planning Group that more should be done to help and support communities living in the developing world.
One of the group, bandsman Norman Smith, arranged a charity concert to raise money for Anbuillam, in India. The amount raised was £501. This was handed over to Paul Tomlinson and Angela Cuskin, two volunteers who are travelling to the orphanage in August, to work with the children who attend the school.
Taking part in the programme were the NASUWT Concert Band, Singer/Songwriter Jayne Lewis and the Corps Singing Company under the leadership of Julia Harland.
The well attended event treated us to a feast of good music to suit all tastes. It was also a means of bringing people into the Army Hall, a number of them first time attenders to the Corps.
